Interesting firearm/ammo day

So I took a bit of time off from work today to deal with my father who is in the hospital, and I had a bit of time to kill. Went to Walmart to pick up a black friday Roku and just for shits and giggles checked the ammo section. Holy shit balls, there was 22lr up the wazoo. So I bought 2333 rounds for less than .05 a round. Score!

Then I went out to Runnings for the hell of it cuz I've never been there and they had a couple Remington RP9's for a good price. The guy at the counter basically talked me out of buying it. I've always liked how they looked, reviews seemed good, and I don't own any big green guns. Meh. Then he went on to tell me that he's a super competitive shooter (like five times... At least) and that he won't process any 4473's cuz he can lose all of his guns because there was a change in the form that could turn him into an instant felon. WTF?

Even crazier, he said the gun unavailability is because Kuntmala said last week that she's going to make the shipment of all gun parts and guns illegal and so the gun manufacturers aren't shipping anything for great that they'd have to recall everything. Ooookayyy. Wish people wouldn't spout so much bullshit. Seemed like one of those guys who just loved to hear himself speak. He seriously wouldn't shut up.

I did score a box of 9mm though when I left for $12. Limit 1. They had 556, 40, and 45 too. It was so I could do not to disguise myself somehow and go back and buy more.

You're right. I've seen that. I tried mentioning that but I couldn't get a word in. I have been trying to buy as many parts and things as I can think of just in case that materializes.

Same here. I just bought a bunch of pistol parts. I need some LPK’s and some buffer tubes next. I’m trying to save money though because I want a sports car. Tough spot to be in.

The Walmart is in Hamburg, Runnings is in Lockport.

He most certainly did like hearing himself. He talked for 10 minutes with a co-worker about bacon grease before he noticed I was looking at guns.

It was something about how the ATF requires documentation of your FULL name on the 4473 instead of just an initial. That guy was something.

walmart uses there own 4473 on the pc .. like they do selling so called pistol ammo for a rifle but you need a pistol permit ..

just had this talk with the FFL lady here last week ,... on the 4473 for middle name and you have none and just a letter there is ways to code that in on the from if you read it ..

The trouble with the new Form 4473 is that the Firearm info and the buyers info are all on the first page. The form can then be easily illegally scanned or photographed (by the ATF) during FFL audits for the setup of a registry database. This is the real issue, not what gender/race someone may identify as.

Funny you mention Runnings in Lockport. I was up that way a couple months back and couldn't help but notice a clerk in firearms that was full of himself. Not sure if it was the same person you encountered, but sure seems likely.
