I have a 45 and 10mm 1911's and yes I do want one in 9mm and I don't feel gay because of that. I also did get a 2011 in 9 but still want a 1911 too. Okay so I want one of everything. Still not gay.

ordered Saturday from a local ffl, picked it up today. strangely enough, no gay pride flag included.
plus I ordered 600 rounds of 9mm Sunday and they were on my porch yesterday.

Finally put some rounds through the Girsan. The first 9 rounds were hitting way low at 7 yards, so I yanked the cheap factory red dot off rather than play around with it. The mounting plate is plenty beefy so I'll most likely buy a Halosun or something similar for it. I found the trigger a bit odd dry-firing it in the house for the last month but with live rounds it seems to be a real decent and light trigger. The slide and release seemed to break in rather quick too. The one 9 round magazine that came with it is a bit catchy and difficult to load at this point. Fit and finish is real nice especially for a $550 optic ready gun. Ran both slow and fast fire , only 100 rounds through it, but zero hiccups. Shooting 9mm through a 1911 is fun and semi cheap. I'm more than happy with it!

I wouldn’t say that a 1911 in 9mm is quote unquote “Gay”. 9mm is a more functional caliber that will do anything a .45 will do while being cheaper, softer on the recoil side of things, better as far as capacity goes, slightly better at hard barrier penetration, etc.
With that said, I would never buy one. For me there are better options than a 1911. Options that do not require the use of manual safeties which I’m totally against for carry.
