Is the Taurus TX 22 Competition NY legal?

Anyone own one of these in NY state? Taurus TX 22 Competition Who would I ask if this is NY legal? I can usually google it with an answer but not this time.

Is that a threaded barrel or is the comp part of the barrel? Looks threaded so I would be doubtful.

Threaded barrel NG might be able to find FFL that would transfer with pinned thread protector. 10 rnd mag GTG 16 round mag NG.

Well in order to pin it I would FIRST need to get it to have somebody pin it. LOL
Any idea where I could get an official answer? Yes I new it had to be a 10 rounder.

(c) a semiautomatic pistol that has an ability to accept a detachable
magazine and has at least one of the following characteristics:
(i) a folding or telescoping stock;
(ii) a thumbhole stock;
(iii) a second handgrip or a protruding grip that can be held by the
non-trigger hand;
(iv) capacity to accept an ammunition magazine that attaches to the
pistol outside of the pistol grip;
(v) a threaded barrel capable of accepting a barrel extender, flash
suppressor, forward handgrip, or silencer;
(vi) a shroud that is attached to, or partially or completely
encircles, the barrel and that permits the shooter to hold the firearm
with the non-trigger hand without being burned;
(vii) a manufactured weight of fifty ounces or more when the pistol is
unloaded; or
(viii) a semiautomatic version of an automatic rifle, shotgun or
firearm;

If you're not exempt you'll need to find an ffl that will work with you. You might be able to order it with non threaded barrel or purchase one separately and have ffl swap it out before transfer. That or possibly give you barrel with comp to have pinned before he transfers. Not an ffl just throwing out some ideas. Good luck.

I will look into more. To bad as I wanted another 22 lr that could take a red dot sight. The regular TX22 doesn't come with the darn threaded barrel BUT its not made to except the red dot like the Competition version does.

It's on my list for this year. As stated, not legal in NY. You would need to find an FFL that will pin the adapter, or give you the barrel to make it legal.

If all you want is a red dot .22 LR I’d call gun boat and see what they can coMe up with if it doesn’t have to be this gun just a red dot ready one.
