Is This Brass OK?

I was cranking out some .40 for my USP on my progressive press, and I was in the rhythm. A little too in the rhythm perhaps:



So yeah, I jiggled the press a little on the upstroke, the bullet tipped and then attempted to go into the seating die sideways. This case was not having it it seems.

So is this safe to shoot? I mean, I DID check, and it does have powder in it, so it won't be a squib or anything...

If I were you I would just resize it to 9mm. That round is so under powered it can take weak brass like that.

On a different subject your brass looks amazing. Is that from the wet tumbler you bought.

As long as it chamber most guns will shoot it....

Trim the case and make it into a 40 short for the novice shooters that want to move up from the 22 short.

Shorten it up some, neck it down and go with it, when you chamber it the gun won't know the difference. And if by chance it doesn't fit, force it.

Look at YouTube on making guns out of steel pipe from Home Depot and make one that you can change out the barrel if anything happens.

I do suggest try some wash and wax. It made a huge different in my ultrasonic cleaner.

I use wax in the vibratory tumbler. This Dawn/Lemishine combo in the rotary, followed by drying them in a food dehydrator for 15 minutes makes them essentially new.

Ultrasonic and wet tumblers are two different animals. Regular dish soap and lemishine is the way to go.

The wash and wax idea was stolen from the wet tumbler people. When I buy one this is what I will use.
