No permit was required here to own a handgun, just to CC. Unless you are a restricted person, you could have 1 in your home and vehicle, and OC. What this new law does is removes the requirement of having a permit for CC.
The other thing about down here is that NONE of your guns are listed on a permit. You buy your gun, and if you pass the NICS check you go home with it. If you have a CCDW permit, then a NICS check isn't required. Also, we are free to buy, sell, or trade off our firearms (including handguns) without having to go through any bullshit. The only requirement is that you have to believe that the person who is obtaining the firearm can legally own one.

The CCDW permit will still be available for those that need them for travel to states with reciprocity.

We have quasi constitutional carry. Like you guys we don't need a CC to buy and take home. WE also don't need a CC to carry OPEN but need one to carry concealed. That would be nice if we also didn't need a NICS if you had a CC. We should just become constitutional carry already!
