Jefferson County still has no way to apply for a Semi_Automatic Rifle License or Amend current Handgun Licenses to reflect permission to purchase

I call the Judge's Office and/or Clerk every Business day and all I get it the cold, silent treatment and "they're working on it." In the mean time I cannot claim my legal and lawful purchases because they not only do not have the Licenses the State demands, they have no way of applying for it: Attorney time?

I really don't want to be a dick or "that guy" especially given that I like and respect the Judge, the Sheriff is a Democrat, retired Trooper that's not running for re-election, so I doubt she gives a shit, the Ladies in the Clerk's Office just do as they're told and it's not exactly a high paying job...Tomorrow I'm requesting a meeting, perhaps he'll see me and offer some sort of viable plan or explanation.

Be polite but firm. Explain your situation and if they don’t have a solution I would ask do I need a lawyer or should I get a lawyer? I’d also say many other counties have a way to do it so what’s the hold up or what’s the timeframe. If you don’t get a satisfactory answer then yes get a lawyer.

Legislators know this, However I do not know how much if any pressure they're putting on the Agency to get it done, that said, all the negative feedback from Constituents they get transforms into a push for action. So far I have spoken (sometimes daily) to the Judge's Clerk, The Senator and Assemblyman that represents us, and I have calls into the Newspapers. These assholes made the Laws, placed demands and there is no way to comply with them.
BTW: The idea of amending the Handgun License to reflect SAR's IS NOT the way it was explained on the Senate Floor, nor written into the Language of the Law.

For the life of me, l can’t understand why they make us go through all this bullshit of having to add a semi automatic rifle permit to our pistol Permit when it could be stated that anyone with a valid Nys pistol license is automatically granted permission to purchase a semi auto rifle. I think they just want to make the process as painful as possible.

Exactly. These people are insane. If you already have a pistol permit. You SHOULD NOT NEED anything more to buy a rifle.

Not a pistol. If I passed all the bullshit up front why do I need a background check every time I buy a gun and then seemingly again every time I add a pistol, randomly now by the NYSP and every time I recertify my pistol permit. It’s a joke honestly.
