I was planning on jumping into the reloading game a few months ago and thought I knew exactly what I wanted to buy. I'm glad I didnt. I think what I will be getting into will be more simplistic and precise than what I thought I wanted.
I also know that there is sooooo much I dont know that it's going to take some dedication of time and I dont know that I can commit to that right now. I think I'm going to learn a little more but eventually I want to go this route

Can u find 6mm ammo locally? I know runnings in clay has it in stock but that is the only place I have seen it.
When I started I found it much easier than I thought it would be. The information out there seems to make it much more complicated than what it is.

I didnt want to create a while thread for this but it's related to this one.
RPR comes with the muzzle break, which I'd like to use during bench rest because its has recoils reduction advantages. Sadly, guys on my left or right dont appreciate the benefits of MY brake when THEY'RE shooting.
My idea. Setup some washers behind the brake which would allow me to rotate the brake 90 degrees which should dissipate the blast fairly harmlessly. Anyone see any issue with this?

Are u shooting from a bench? I would worry about debris flying around.

Concrete benches (see previous pics) but I believe the muzzle would surely extend over the end of the horizontal deck so there be nothing to get blowed around, except maybe some cut grass.

Take a buddy with you and see how bad the muzzle blast is to the side. I’d shoot your rifle the way it came, it’s a rifle range.

I know its gonna blast guys. Inevitable. If I start blowing their boxes of hand loads into the parking lot there's gonna be a shit storm. These guys are 65+ years old, cranky, and have nothing to lose so I don't need to become a "moving target".

Lol I hear you. My rifles with muzzle brakes are not that bad. My buddies Serbu BFF-50 has some wicked muzzle blast, but that’s a 50bmg. Does any other shooters have a muzzle device?

They're integral to the barrel but none of them really produce much blast.

Maybe this will make your urge go away. Finally blocked off some time to get the scope leveled and mounted. I know it's not "gunsmith quality" mounting but it's what I got with what I got. Heading to the range Sunday for barrel break in and scope zeroing.
Bought the mini torque wrench, guide rods, and Tipton rod along with nylon brushes. Really want to try and do this as right as I can.
Just sitting at the table and getting behind the scope is rewarding enough. Feels so comfortable and solid. I'll have to get used to the bolt. Sounds like metal on metal but this is how they are.
Good call on the torque wrench!!! I guy I know who bought a scope Vortex scope at cabels , when they mounted it they over tightened the rings and it screwed up the scope.
