Just bought a new rifle

I just picked up a Sharp’s 1874 in 45-70. Have not shot it yet but it sure is beautiful. I checked with the Mfg. and they told me that it was a model 1875 Sporter from their custom shop. Extra heavy octagon barrel with their XXX wood stock with French trim. 30” barrel with the vernier rear sight. Guess I got a little lucky when I found it.

Lucky! I got into bidding wars on a few of them on GB and just gave up. Thinking of settling on a Pedersoli model when I find one.

I have one of the Cimaron (made by Chiappa) Model 1874 "USA Creedmoor" Rifles No. 149 of 500 With the vernier tang sight and Globe front with spirit level, 32" Barrel...shoot a whole hell of a lot better than I do.
