Just ordered a Super Redhawk 44 Magnum

From Buds Gun Shop. Got the one with the Hi Viz front sight. I traded in my Taurus 44 mag. They gave me $300 for it. I bought it for $450. I think I'm good for deer hunting now.

I want to develop a 310g load for it. Missouri bullets has a "Hammer" Hi Tek coated.

I'm all boned up.

its a great Scope host if you want to hunt! big and Beefy enough to shoot the heavy loads!

Nice gun, you did good. What length of barrel did you get? When you get it and get your load worked up let us know.

I ended up with the 7 1/2" barrel. I like the looks of that over the 9 1/2". I suspect the latter would be more accurate though. My stand is in such a place that shots past 50 yds. would be dang near impossible.

I have four Redhawks, two 44 mags, a 357 with 7 1/2" barrels, and a 41 mag with the 5 1/2" barrel. And I also have a stainless 6" GP100 -357 mag and recently bought a 10 1/2" stainless 44 mag Blackhawk for deer hunting back there is they ever pass the national resip pistol B.S..

The Redhawks are fun guns to shoot, you can water down 44spl cartridges so you have very light recoil for fun shooting.
I do light 357 mag loads for my 7 year old grandson.

Is your Redhawk to older style or the Super Redhawk?
I have both, I want to add a scope to the Super Redhawk.
Shoot the hell out of it and enjoy it to the fullest.
They are excellent revolvers, built to be comfortable for most people.

I like the 7 1/2" barreled Redhawks, I want to replace my 5 1/2" 41 mag with a 7 1/2" version.
I bought a Ruger 77/357 rifle to pair up with the 357 Gp 100 or so the 357 Redhawk.
I will be buying a Ruger 77/44 mag to pair up with the three 44 magnum revolvers for deer hunting hopefully some day if they ever pass the pistol deal.
I'd also like to pick.up a 41 magnum lever gun to pair up with the 41 magnum.Redhawk.

I bought the brand newSuper mainly because of ease of disassembly and tweaking the trigger mods. I actually like the styling of the Redhawk better because it looks more like the keeping of an older style revolver. It is my understanding however that they are less resistant to tweaking and you can load longer loads in the Super. I may or may not scope it.

I am looking to go up to 300 - 310g loads for hunting. Missouri Bullet Co has a 300g "Hammer" with a huge meplat that I am interested in loading up to. I am currently using their 240g "Smasher" and Hornady XTP 240g both loaded with 24g Win 296

I like the 296 powder.i have been loading the Hornady XTP bullets as well.

I was told by someone who had one, and swore my them, go with Ultradot. Half way through deer season it fogged. Warrantied but by the time I got it back, season was over so I'm less than thrilled with them. They could've handled it better.

I finally got it on Monday. I had to wait a few weeks because my FFL was waiting to get his license renewed. He ended up selling my gun for $400 minus FFL fees $25 instead of the $300 GB was offering me. In the meantime I was perusing GB and found a real nice one from 2013-2014 for $699 plus $10 shipping. I ended up getting it out of pocket for $360.

I hope to get to the range and shoot it this weekend. I've got some Missouri .430's over 24g win 296 and Hornady XTP's waiting to get shot the F up.

Great firearm. Very heavy. you will need a shoulder rig or a chest rig.
