Probably right that he does, but I actually think it’ll be a real fight, Harris or no. You underestimate the Trump hate.
Me? I do not underestimate the hate. I see it everyday. This is a big part of my life, I watch, I read and I listen. I also understand the love for Trump; all across this once great nation. Very quite on the Right.
I am married to a Hispanic woman. From what I hear, a lot of her family is fairly apolitical but now feeling obligated to vote, and to make it blue. None of them are in Texas, where we live now, but I wouldn’t be shocked if that’s true here in Texas too, making it a swing state for the first time in forever.
You might be right, but it’s abuzz here. Given how freaking weird this year has already been, I am counting nothing out at all.
nope, he will be president for a couple weeks, then the white house will announce "that even though Joe Biden is bravely fighting this dreaded disease, he is working through it"
a couple weeks later they will announce that "due to this dreaded disease, Mr Biden in his brave battle has decided he can no longer function your President and that he will be stepping aside, your VP, Kamala will be taking over shortly, your new VP will be Illan Omar"
the next VP is Kamala harris, Have mercy on our soles
Sure, we are seeing things currently that a few months ago, most of us would not have thought possible.
I am just pretty sure of a few things. I am going out on a limb and say of all freaky things that could happen, California may actually be in play this year. Wow, did I really just type that?
Insane!Haven’t kept up with CA. I have some doubts. But R’s mostly kept their heads down working to afford CA.
Fun fact: the house I grew up in was built in 1965. 1550sf, a lot of drywall cracks and doors which wouldn’t close due to faulting and earthquakes. Parents bought it in 1984 for $230k. Sold 2005 for $720k. Zillow put it at $1.1m last time I checked.
If you’re conservative, you keep your head down and the checks rolling in out in Silicon Valley. Pretty sure the State of Jefferson crowd will show up, but I think most R voters are properly cowed in the Bay Area.
Dunno about SoCal. 400 miles away, it’s a different beast entirely.
EDIT: screenshot the house on Zillow. Now $1.2m, and without the big tree in the front yard or the eucalyptus out back. Eliminating the eucalyptus was probably a good call...it constantly screwed with the electricity/cable strung along the fence line (you can see the pole/transformer upper right), but that shady Mulberry out front...??????
Insane!
i don't know anything of that Cxxx Ms K whats her name .. but what i have seen is some posts on the good old web ..

With P.V. Gopalan, an upright civil servant and doting patriarch, Kamala Harris forged one of the defining relationships of her life.www.latimes.com

Well here’s the thing. There is no candidate out there that represents everyone 100 percent. For example, there is no candidate out there that represents me 100 percent. They all support background checks for guns. If I and everyone else who thought like me were to wait for one and instead write in none of the above, then I would personally contribute to the situation going worse for me since the worse candidate of the 2 now has a leg up.I get it, but at the same time, I can’t really in good conscience vote for candidates I don’t actually share that much with. I understand that our system has built into it a two party system, but on the other hand, I just can’t get on board with what feels like surrendering my sovereignty out of convenience. We’d get a lot more vibrancy and churn in the parties if we got out of the rut we’re in that way.
I will say, I had a bit of hope that Trump might shatter that, but it looks like that backfired. Just made folks dig their heels in.

For you, let’s say that the NFA is what you consider important and you find one that’s against it, I will not vote for him since he supports background checks. So Biden gets in making our situation worse.
For someone else who could care less about guns but wants strong immigration laws, he will vote for Trump. We both care about immigration laws as well but our vote will go to none of the above because Trump doesn’t see the 2A as we do.
Meanwhile, the Democrats will keep banding together and voting their people in.
Who wins? It certainly isn’t us. There is not one candidate out there that represents everyone 100 percent. It’s impossible.

Problem is, I usually can’t stomach a huge percentage of the other baggage. I want gay and trans rights (reasonable ones, not woke ones) and for politicians to stay out of the bedroom or be in the business of issuing marriage licenses. That’s pervy. Non-interventionism, sensible military cuts, more relaxed immigration, drug legalization/decriminalization, and criminal justice reform. On the other hand, I want small government which devolves more and more powers back to local jurisdictions. Entitlement restrictions. Much lower taxes and far less regulation. Look for market-minded solutions. No more spying on us, far better privacy enforcement, and to the extent it can, do a better job of maintaining free speech. Ditch Federal education mandates. Give us our damn guns.
There’s no plausible scenario where I can vote for either of those corrupt awful parties without giving up something very dear to me.
You have more complicated thoughts than I do.
I am very set on many things. Much of your want lists are very opposite of mine. Gay/trans rights? Too me, a joke and needs no further consideration.
Military spending? Clean it up, but continue the spending
Boarders and immigration? Close the southern border, tight. Pay closer attention to the northern border. Allow only immigrants that have something to offer my country.
I am against drug legalization. Period. My fix to the drug problem? Let the junkies, crackheads and Meth heads to die when they OD.
I agree on some of your points, lower taxes, smaller government. Next to no government intervention into private lives. No hiring mandates. No minimum wage.
There is always more to add.
There’s my conundrum. You fit in ways that I just don’t. I’m a square peg in some round holes.
I see life as clear as possible... At least as clear as I see things.
I am a proud Nationalist. I love my Country. I do not care about those outside of my small circle. I see the influx of immigrants that have nothing to offer me and my country nothing more than a virus.
I think anyone who wants to change my quality of life as the enemy. Anyone that pushes their deviant behavior upon me, well, I have no use for them.
In regards to a smaller government, this is my favorite. Many that claim they want smaller, have no idea what they are really asking for.
To me, a smaller government would mean that many, a lot of many's would be homeless, hungry, sick and they would probably die. I would cut off all welfare, free medical, free housing, free heat in the winter. Less government would mean no assistance to those that overdose. Less government would mean great things in my opinion.
Everyone gives up something. There is not one person who agrees with Trump 100% or Biden 100%. They may think they do but they don’t if they were to dwell deep and research all of their stances. I am sure you do not agree with the Libertarian candidate 100 percent. But you have to vote for someone. Otherwise, you make it worse on yourself for the issues you hold dearly.Problem is, I usually can’t stomach a huge percentage of the other baggage. Some people think they are voting for everything a candidate stands for.Everyone gives up something. There is not one person who agrees with Trump 100% or Biden 100%. Bottom line, everyone compromises. They have to. There are only 2 candidates. Not a million candidates. Imagine if we all did like you for the next 50 years. Where will our gun rights be? Where will this country be as far as immigration goes?
I hate revolvers. With a passion I do. But if the choice was to carry a revolver or nothing because Glocks were illegal, would it be smart for me to give up carrying all together if I valued my family’s lives?
