Agree with all of this. White privilege is "sins of the father" by any other name. Make children suffer for what their ancestors did. I was taught growing up we are supposed to go post-racial. Stop obsessing over it and demonizing others. The left wants no part of that. Their lives suck and by God it's got to be somebody else's fault.

Black culture is clearly a huge portion of why they continue to not achieve. I heard recently of a person who was working with black kids in the city schools here and one of them refused to touch a pencil after this white teacher had touched it. Whoever the hell has been whispering into that kid's ear is not doing them a bit of favor.

Once again a so called "progressive" is pushing for actions that are in direct contravention of the Constitution. I would think a fine legal mind could extend the meaning of "corruption of blood" beyond committing treason, and apply it to other cases where the "sins of the father" do not extend to descendants.

The reparations argument is pure BS. African Americans have the best opportunities on earth. If slavery never happened they wouldn't be better off than living here. Don't think so? How is Africa doing overall? Slavery was hundreds of years ago. Was it a horrible thing? Yes. Should we forget about it? Absolutely not. But it's in no way affecting your opportunities hundreds of years later. If anything I would get behind reparations for native americans as I think they would actually be better off if their land wasn't stolen. The funny thing is that the majority of native americans don't want you to feel sorry for them or want reparations.

To a great extent WWII was fought on that front in terms of economics (though note that Costa Rica actually declared war on Germany on 12-4-1941, a full week before Pearl Harbor). Brazil fought in Europe in significant numbers. Mexico sent the "Aztec Squadron" to the Pacific, having declared war on the Axis Powers on May 22, 1942, among others.

The contribution of Latin America is understandably ambiguous because many of those countries remained at the time colonies or under-developed client states of the competing European nations in the conflict.

I think what people are most pissed off about is they can't save money on their own and want the refund at the end of the year to buy their big screen tv. The same ones that blow through their money on stupid shit and don't pay off their bills that they could have with their refund. If only they realized how much better it is to be debt free than to have the latest (and unneeded) iphone.

They docked their ships in harbor and never went on raiding parties...

So do the American descendents of Slaves then get reparations from their neighboring tribes that raided them and sold them into slavery? Root cause analysis... Let's be honest, it all starts there.

Sure, the Dutch promoted it, and yes, people purchased slaves. But let's start at the Roots (pun intended).

Then what about all the other races that were indentured servants here? Isn't that a mild form of slavery? Why is the perception promoted that only "Africans" were slaves? What about all the Chinese who built the railroads? Oh, wait, they were dying under free will right?

Where does it stop?

And for the matter, Affirmative Action was designed to assist certain societal & cultural elements which were identified as dragging particular segments down, holding them back. After how many generations does that end?

Perpetual handouts is problematic... This is just another form of it!

This doesn't make sense. It's almost like telling the wealthiest people in america they are racists and awful diminishes their desire to contribute to your campaign. And telling businesses that they are predatory and hateful makes them cool to contribute.

If the dems keep up their anti-capitalist, racist campaigning they may find that not a lot of people want to elect them.

My family had nothing to do with slavery. I’m Italian, polish, German, and Irish. I’m the 3rd generation in the USA and we came in the early 1900’s. I don’t think any of my tax money should go for reparations. You can’t punish me for a crime I didn’t commit. It’s all about buying votes.

They already have a response for this. Since you're white (?), you benefit from systemic racism that is all a natural manifestation of slavery from two centuries ago. See, you can't win. You're always going to be guilty.
