I can see an advantage if one does want to cook very long in a shtf situation. one would preserve wood or gas .

A good pressure cooker is a 'have to have'!! When I was a kid my penny pinching mother would buy the cheapest english cut chuck she could wrangle out of the equally penny pinching butcher, pressure cook that nasty piece of leather into the best pot roast anyone could hope for, the meat was always tender and flavorful.
For all you guys that plan to bunker in place during a SHTF scenario, this is a must have. Too heavy for you bug out guys but it is an awesome cooking vessel to have while you await the end times.

Honestly I do the same with a slow cooker, but I also have a pressure cooker. Both work great. Chuck roast + onion soup in the bottom. Brown the meat first, and let it sit in onion soup for basically 8 hours. Put it in after breakfast, and you have basically onion flavored pulled beef in the evening. Feeds me and my wife for 3 days worth of dinners.
