This thing can supposedly hold up to 41 shells. Would anyone find this useful?

If you need to go thru 41 shells of 12 gauge to stop a home invasion or robbery, you might be doing something wrong...but I agree with the defensive mantra, more is better.

2½ pounds/25 rounds of 1⅛ oz lead, PLUS 9.2 pounds for the gun, you're looking at hauling around a gun that weighs about 14 pounds. NO thanx, If i can't defend myself with just 5 rounds of 12ga, its no longer a gun fight, its a war

although if you need a competition shotgun for a 'three gun shoot' that doesn't need reloading I would think this would be the way to go

24 2.75 inch shells without a reload would be almost perfect IMO.
IIRC, almost 80% of home invasions these days involve 2 or more BG's.
If standard capacity 30 rounders for 5.56 and 7.62x39 aren't ideal, it's news to me.

No doubt a shotgun is devastating in close quarters. The problem with critical duty and a pump is the pump itself. Add feeding tubes to that and the risk continues to go up.
Most people are not proficient to be both effective and free of trouble in lightning fast critical defense.
Any reliable semiautomatic magazine system is going to give them the edge in situations that are over in 2 or 3 seconds.
This is something people bring up in the PD practice and put to the test by the best training professionals.
So hi round count on a heavy and slow tube gun is not that effective and why is not popular for all those reasons.

Remember, it's gets lighter as you shoot it and you don't have to worry about carrying shells in your pockets to reload.
After a firefight, no one has ever complained they had to much ammo.

This. That's why I prefer my 1301 with a 7 round tube and as many shells as I can stuff in my pockets.

Sadly, I'll just have to make do with my 24 shell capacity KSG.
