Showed up today

Glad it was not serrated as some of the reviewers pictures showed, speed safe assisted opening works great and blade was nice and sharp out of the box.

Cant wait to test it out but will most likely be adding something a little smaller to keep in the pocket as an edc.

I have a feeling this is the start of another hobby.

That's a great kit. I really like your AR and Sig too. What shotgun are you going to get?

I retired or sold my other knives and have two Glassbreaker Blurs for EDC. I have serrated because if I needed to cut seat belt webbing (same reason for wanting the glass breaker end) but I prefer non serrated for looks and sharpening... but so far haven't felt like the serrations get in the way of any cutting jobs I've had to do. Skinning game might be different.

I read you post about the blur which originally made me check it out.

Right now I wanted a knife for around the house, garage, range that could do pretty normal tasks as well as not breaking the bank, the ease of sharping the non serrated blade is why i prefer it. Since honestly i will be mostlikely cutting boxes etc

I figured like my handguns, the more I use it the more I will get an understanding of what I want in a blade and then can drop some coin on something that I really like and will last me a long time.

I have to say I love the benchmade I just bought. Their knives are truest much nicer than kershaw. All you need to do is pick it up on open it and you'll agree. Seriously look at benchmade. Cabelas has a great selection of them for the same price as all the online retailers.

So when you stab and kill the thug who assaulted your grandma at 2am are you going to toss your $200 Benchmade into the River? Or will CSI find their DNA inside the AXIS™ Lock? Cause then you'll be stuck with using a plastic fork as your EDC in the slammer.

Friend of mine actually tested out his seat belt cutter piece on his knife on an old truck we were scrapping. Did a good job but took about 10 seconds. I took out my partially serrated swiss ranger and went through the belt in one slash. About .5 seconds. Moral of the story, dont fall for gimicky tools if you havent tested them yourself.

Ha that Swiss Ranger serrated blade is called their "wood saw" with teeth twice as deep so I guess it would cut better. I don't know about cutting down trees though....

I don't plan on murdering anyone so I think I'm good there. To each their own. I was just giving my input. I'm sure the kershaw blur is a better value, but I have nothing else significant to buy and always loved benchmade so I bought one. As stated I love it.

I know the Benchmade is better. A new JP rifle is better, and new STI pistol is better. But the guy here is proud/happy with his new knife and gear and it's kind of inconsiderate to poop on his thread when he's happy with his excellent gear. If you want to talk about the merits of other knives and brandnames then there is another thread for it but what's the matter with letting someone enjoy their stuff?

I bet a Maserati is better than my car but I still like my car....

Frankly I forgot to mention as for a shotgun a currently run an 870 express with the police extractor, magpul stock & foregrip along with the ghost ring sights

Holds 8 rounds and is short enough to maneuver around hallways

I will add on it, would you buy a Maserati as your first car? Probably not, probably something cheaper. This isn't a bad thing and then when you pay up for all the top of the line items you get with the Maserati you will really appreciate it since you will have your first ride to compare it too

Hopefully the same is true with my knives . Now that I have something to carry around and use when I decide what features I really want I can pay up for something nice and understand the value of my purchase.

You're right. Sorry I was just excited about my new purchase.
Trust me I like kershaw knives I carried one for about 15-20 years. The blur is probably the best knife they make too.

Funny story about it. I ordered it online from woot.com, but they wouldn't ship it to NY because it is spring assisted and NYC laws suck, I am in western NY by the way. Now I have my CCW, but I couldn't get the knife shipped to me. I had it shipped it to my sister, who has a felony DWI, but lives in Florida so no stupid laws. Then she sent it to me.

Amazon wouldn't ship me a Blur when I was in NY either. I should send my Blurs out to get sharpened so I can put em back in the rotation. I love my Blurs too! They just have the edge of a worn butter knife right now. Nursery work is hard as hell on knives! That's what I was doing when I was using em. Russels Nursery.
