When you listen to really pay close attention to her total persona, you'll find it easy to believe she was appointed simply because she checked the boxes, and sadly it's been done before...multiple times.
This whole idea that free speech does not cover false information (whether truly false or "false according to the political beliefs of a person") is completely bunk. Freedom of speech is just that: freedom of speech. Even the old adage of "you can't yell 'fire' in a theater" has been found by the courts to be incorrect.
Falsehoods and misinformation have been protected speech long before the advent of social media or the internet. People have a responsibility to determine the truth of what they read. This is not a role the government should be involved in. The Biden administration's pressure campaign crossed the line from "requests" to "demands with implied consequences" very early on and were flat-out unconstitutional as soon as they did.
I am very disappointed, though not entirely surprised, that the conservative wing of the court appears to be leaning towards allowing this kind of behavior. The truth is that neither party is interested in defending our Constitutional rights. They are only interested in advancing their own political agendas. Political parties are the bane of our government system.
