This Spanish guy climbs Everest in record time.

1st run climbs in 26hrs record time.

2nd run cimbs it in 17hrs. also w/o oxygen or ropes, twice the same week!!!

Can you freaking believe this? Anyone who likes hiking and/or climbing will get a sense
of what this really means.

In the mean time the NFL cry babies complain they want to make more money to play the sport.

He ran to the advanced base camp and then started to ascend pretty fast at a pace
never seen before. We are talking at altitudes of already 15,000 to 19,000ft !!!
When they get higher of those altitudes they pace down due to the lack of oxygen but he said he felt he
had a stomach flu or something yet the first time he continued to the summit and beat the record
anyway. He came down and when his stomach felt better he repeated, IN THE SAME WEEK!
That is insane.

I like the post, and I am 101% outdoors-man but yet I never got the hang of why anyone climbs a rock top etc.... ? I just don't feel it climbing to top? or the thrill of achievement etc...

Outdoors is one thing, reaching a peak another, what these guys do is insane and very dangerous.
Anyone without that kind of experience will be suicidal even the best athletes in the world.
Watch the videos and see how Kilian was basically born and raised in the high altitude of the Pirenees and the Alps.
I have hiked as high as 10,500ft and I felt out of breath. Imagine this guy training all the time many times above 18,000ft.
Even the best dogs get windy above 6-7,000 feet.

Try leading an English system HVS+ (5.10+ American) on a really thin route with shit tons of exposure, and it's close to the highest adrenalin rush you can get.

I crashed and burned doing it in 1988 - almost 1 year totally in a wheelchair - did a couple of cheap routes later, but physically couldn't do more. I still miss it.

Everest, or especially K2, done at blitz speeds, without oxygen is astonishing. And I thought Messner was a wildman.

When he goes on a plane and they say... in case of a sudden drop in cabin pressure an oxigenoxigen mask will dropnin front of you..yada yada yada....
He is like.... naw! Am good!!!

Btw those snow curls you see on top of the everest many times is the jet stream hitting the top of that mountain at 80-120mph winds.
That is freaking weather above all other weather and what makes jets get into turbulences. That is how high that peak is!
