Kimber micro 9

Well went looking around at the gun store today after picking up the T/C Encore. I saw this in the case and it intrigued me. Not sure about it the grip ends right around the meaty part of my palm. Being a 9mm it should be ok but, I may have to put a mag bumper on it should it make its way home with me one day.

I like them. I have the solo and it's a very nice gun except the trigger pull is heavy. I wanted to buy the micro since it was single action, but my thumb does not hit the slide release at all. I can't release the slide so I did not like that. My solo is nice small and compact. With jhp rounds it's very accurate, but regular target rounds it shoots not so great. If you get one post a reveiw.

Well one of them followed me home last night. I have to store it in a separate safe from the full sized 1911s so they don't take advantage of it. I will hit the range Saturday and see how she shoots.

I have been looking and thinking about one also. Haven't asked to hold on yet because at that point, its usually over......

Have a Kimber Ultra CDP II that I love, and its been asking for a little brother.

I have the Kimber ultra Cary II and love it as well. The thing I like about the micro 9 is, it disappears in my pocket. Which makes it a nice option to have. The things I don't really like are, it only comes with one magazine and the spare mags aren't expected to be available until mid to late November.

Just got an email from the Kimber store, the 6 round mags for the Kimber micro 9 are available 25 bucks each. I just ordered 4. I still have six 7 round extended mags on my wish list hopefully they will come in soon.

So went to the range today with 3 different loads
147 XTP Hornady
124 Golddots
115 FMJ Federals

At 7 yards the 147s gave me a group just under 4 inches. The 124 Golddots gave me a just under 4.5 inch group. The 115 FMJs grouped at 6 and 8 inches. Now to be fair I did not take my time shooting these and they were the first shots out of the gun. Later on I will take it out to see how small of a group I can put on paper. Today was about shaking out the dust and seeing how well it will do under the circumstances it will most likely be shot in real life.

The butt of the gun ends right at the meaty part of my palm, with that in mind the gun was still pleasent to shoot. The 115s actually had the most perceived recoil the 147s the least. I fired 100 rounds through it today without a hiccup.

For carry purposes I will be using the Golddots for now until I get a chance to test out some other loads. My spare mags should arrive this week so I will try to get back out to the range next week to see how the micro will perform in the cold.

I did shoot some groups at 10 yards they did not change with any significance. So I didn't bother to keep the target.

Actually it was a nice gun, but a little beat up for what they were asking. I fondled it for a while, and resisted, at least for now. Actually, I have one already, and a Cobra. Have been on the lookout for a Diamondback, to round out the mix.
