Yep, 18+1
In any case, it's nice looking and a pretty nice capacity (in a more free state), but I wouldn't personally ever buy an aluminum framed 1911 again. I own one, a full sized .45 Springfield Loaded Lightweight . The aluminum frame has had a couple of different issues. Maybe mine was a fluke with metallurgy issues, maybe not. Perhaps 9mm would be different compared to what was probably some extra spicy .45 on a few occasions. I wouldn't buy another though.
The Kimber Desert Warrior I bought back in 2010 would give it some serious competition. 2 or 3 malfunctions per mag. After 3 trips back to Kimber, it improved a bit. I could usually go through a mag with only 1 malfunction. It was pretty, though.from the press release :
“Kimber has spent over 4 years engineering the finest double stack 1911 on the market, incorporating key new features with precise engineering methods to offer a conceal carry oriented double stack 1911 that can jam and malfunction like nothing ever offered before.”
I’m snagging a DWX Compact as a moving out of NY present to myself. Been window shopping a ton of different things and settled on this.Dan Wesson Arms (owned by CZ USA) introduced essentially the same with what appears to be a CZ75 lower with a 1911 upper... slick to say the least.
DWX - Dan Wesson Firearms
What began as an innovative idea among the brilliant minds at CZ and Dan Wesson resulted in the jaw-dropping DWX pistol, which is a grand melding between the two pistol families.danwessonfirearms.com
