Kitchen knife set.

My wife has had her Wusthof knives for at least 15 years and they still look and work great. Can't go wrong with them.

My sister in law has them to I found out and like them. I think I'll go that route.

Wusthof makes a number of different models. In addition to their professional line is the economical line and a few in between. Not sure which ones you've seen and used but not all Wusthof's are created equal.
