FWIW, we love our worksharp. Does good work on the kitchen knives.
Still haven't tried it out yet. I did set my knife next to it all night, but the elves didn't do the work overnight.Miles, - we're gonna need a detailed report on that sharpener - just saying.
Seems to be some sort of plastic maybe composite. I really have to admit it's not the cheap plastic/composite. It has a nice weight and feel to it. I did see videos with larger knives wanted to tip the thing over. The theme I did see online was people are holing onto the base and rotating it as they sharpen along the profile of the blade. Is te frame made of metal or some type of composite material?
Thanks, I have a couple of old school knives that are pretty large. Plus the knives I use for processing Cod are fairly long.Seems to be some sort of plastic maybe composite. One video mentioned about being able to fasten it to a bench. I did not look close enough to see if it has mounting points. If it did it wouldn't be difficult to mount it to a board/bench. Because of how the base is flare/tapered I doubt you would be able to clamp it to anything. Thanks, I have a couple of old school knives that are pretty large. I better search for some of those videos before I pull the trigger.
Edit: Do you think it could be clamped down to a bench? Or maybe permanently fasten to a piece of wood and then clamp the wood down?
Sounds like i need to give my lansky a shot again and my fathers work sharp again.
Any thoughts on the work sharp's take on the lansky?

Does his have the grinding attachment? It makes a huge difference. Hated mine until I added that. This is the one I ended up buying.
Agreed. My father bought one and love it. I hate it, big time. That's why I was pursing a new method.
