Here's how I know as a country we are totally screwed. For those who don't read the original post on DU, this is the main point

""Unconditional Surrender". That means and meant that the military must fight until the last breath of the enemy is taken from him and the capitulation is forced rather than elective. For my Dad, who agreed with the policy as implemented in WWII, it meant that he would most certainly die on the shores of the islands of Japan, since they were readying his battalion for the land invasion. The bomb was then dropped of course, and the rest is history, and he, unlike hundreds of thousands of others including the resident populations of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, was spared.

We must fight and force unconditional surrender of these fascists who have co-opted the Federal Government and are systematically destroying anything and everything which promotes liberty, health, welfare, education, science, and Truth. The process can give no quarter to the enemy...not one iota, because even if half-dead, they will rise up and attempt to destroy us."





That is a direct quote from them. Want to know why I think it's telling, and what's most frightening about it? Word for word we say very similar things. How can they and us, look at the same situation and come to completely opposite conclusions? There is no middle ground anymore. Both the left and right despise each other and each side is strengthening their convictions.

It's not going to end well.




I honestly draw historical parallels comparing today to the late 1850s America. The ideological conflict of slavery and states rights is being replaced by illegal immigration and social justice socialism.

I've never thought we are any different than the same humans who committed genocide in the past by the millions. All that separates us from becoming such is history (an appreciation of it) and culture. The person who wrote that is only different from people beating babies to death by being lucky enough to be born where he was and not rwanda.

First thing I came across....



A 15-year-old came out as transgender to our church congregation today. He was very brave and got a standing ovation from a group of old, white, straight, cis and not-so-liberal people. It was the most amazing moment I ever had at church and I thanked him.

Anyway, tearing-up...that is all.

Its evident that fascists control the economy (public/private partnershps?), but not Nazis. It seems noone knows what either term actually means, and they become more meanngless every day.

Trump has been called "literally Hitler" on am hourly basis in the media for the past 3 years. They have completed diluted what an actual nazi or fascist is.

Stupid ignorant congress reps ("the squad" vomit) also routinely call everyone or thing they disagree with as nazi or fascist.

It's so disingenuous.
