Concealed Carry Downside: Man Arrested For Krispy Kreme Donunts After Officer Finds Concealed Carry Permit. Not Kidding.

Ok, so first, I don’t support a search for no reason during a car stop at all. I’ve never felt the need to ask something like that. It’s not something we do here. If a cop is asking to search your car here, they were likely in an unmarked car and it’s for a reason beyond a traffic infraction. But...

It doesn’t seem a little strange to claim - in Florida, where gun ownership is far more popular and carry is more prevelent - that the search was due to his concealed carry permit? This man was wronged, but I highly, highly doubt that was the reason.

The real issue is the falsified field drug tests. anything after that doesn't matter if the cop is willing to do that.

And there is no "debate" for me. Cops get told nothing they don't NEED to know. NOTHING.

You are not, I repeat NOT "putting anyone at ease" by telling cops you have a gun. If you mention nothing, they don't know whether you have one or not, so there is no "at ease" about it. Damn do I hate that line.

Florida has a lot of liberals from anti gun states polluting the area. Small towns that don't hire off of civil service hire through resume have lots of retired cops from Boston, NY, ECT. They call them certified cops or something like that.

I'm not saying that these specific cops are from those areas but liberalism is alive and growing in Florida.

Moral of the story... DO NOT CONSENT TO ANY SEARCHES.

Though in this case it turned into a decent payday (does it still get taxed? Probably), but it took 2 years and probably gave him all sorts of stress. Not to mention if he was arrested they may have confiscated his firearms..
