People with money use loopholes to reduce the overall amount they pay. There are too many deductions that allow them to pay less. Just remove the allowable deductions. There doesn't need to be a higher rate for them.

Here's an even easier idea. Make them pay. There's over $1 billion owed in taxes that hasn't been collected. The rich have ways of dragging out what they owe. Look at Wesley Snipes. He owed millions in taxes and it took years to get it from him and in the end they didn't make him pay all that he owed. The average person doesn't have to money to fight back and the IRS just says they'll start seizing assets. Why don't they seize rich peoples property?

Many wealthy people have TONS of capital gains and very little wage pay. That's just part of how they pay much lower tax rates than the middle class.

The rich frankly pay shit tons of taxes. Half this country pays NO federal income taxes and yet I guarantee many in that camp complain about rich not paying their share.

I’m not here to defend rich. People worth a billion bucks that’s an absurdity and I think most know that. But if the middle class actually looked at a breakdown of tax receipts by income they would realize that many of them are hardly contributing to the tax base or as mentioned not at all).

I have no problem with defection s as long as it’s o e for investing in your business was to grow it. I have no problem with Amazon not paying taxes. Amazon builds billion dollar warehouse and employee 100,000’s. Their economic footprint is insane.
People are free to disagree with me but the last thing I want to do is give more of my money away to lazy asses when businesses can’t find workers or the government to piss it away on stupid shit.
