Just posting this as an example because I had no idea that a few people on the city or town counsel saying this is an urban renewal project allows the government to take or change the ownership of the property.
My wife and I had a bit of an argument on this because she supports the government side of it and maybe I would to if sears and the other legacy lease people wanted out of the lease, but what if they don’t? What if they want to keep paying the lease to see what the future holds to lock in property? I could see many people buying and holding onto land for further development or investment property or projects. So what now the government can just come in and say it’s urban renewal and take your property of it benefits them? Not a fan here. I didn’t like it when Trump was talking about doing it for the wall building either.
I think it’s crazy the project is projected to be 5-10 years down the road anyway.
