.40 S&W
First off, please let me start by saying I have been around firearms my entire life and was introduced to the target shooting sports at a young age by my dad. At age 6 he bought a BB gun, at age 8 he would take me to the local rifle range to shoot .22 rifles and would stand by my side and make sure I was practicing safe gun handling and muzzle control. At age 12 I got my turkey hunting license and got my first 12 gauge. I went awhile in my teens without shooting but got back into it as I approached the age of 20 and grew up to be a man who respected firearms and followed the safety rules due to what my dad taught me as a boy before joining a local rifle range 3 miles down the road from my house. I apologize for the intro, and will get into subject matter now.
Last week I was out running a couple errands with a friend. We stopped at the local Wal-Mart so I could grab a couple things so I could make dinner for me & her when we got back to her house. I cashed out and was waiting up front waiting for her to finish as she had to grab a couple things. As I was standing there, a guy went by who was clearly anti-gun talking on his cellphone talking to someone who I was assuming was also anti-gun as he was saying how all us law abiding gun owners & NRA members go around talking saying all we know how to say is how the "2nd Amendment shall not be infringed, brrr brrr brrr" and how we are a bunch of crazy buffoons. I kindly stood there waiting for my friend to come through the checkout like so we could head to her house and I could start dinner. I wanted to say something to this guy, but stood there in silence because I knew if I said something it wouldn't be nice and didn't wanna cause a situation in the store from my mouth going.
Issue #2 was earlier this afternoon I was on my Facebook account and commented on a photo of one of my friends posted showing them at their local rifle range having some range time. I mentioned I was a firearm instructor, range officer & a shooting coach at the rifle range I belong to and someone else on her friends list commented directly below me saying "How much of a idiot I am", proceeded by calling me "A dope" and then proceeded to say how "I look like a child molester" which I am far from and could not take it no more and am standing up to these anti-gun morons. I don't mean to sound aggressive, but this moron is gonna say that kinda stuff to a gun owner and it is gonna result in him getting his butt kicked or worse being they are not going to show the amount of restraint I did and they are now upping their antics acting like they are trying to provoke us to get us to respond in a bad way like you always see on the news.
Us law abiding gun owners & NRA members have been under attack from these idiots for far too long. First it was the anti-gun groups saying anyone who was an NRA Member or law abiding gun owner how we are terrorists comparable to Osama Bin Ladin and how we "kill babies", which turned into a news reporter who posted a story about interviewing a law abiding gun owner and twisted the article to say "She never spoke to a law abiding gun owner who never went about the process of filling out the 4473 form, passing the NICS check and how we all instantly feel a rage inside us & wanna shoot some place up". My question is who makes this stuff up and where do they get this nonsense.
Coming from a law enforcement & military family, I appreciate and say thank you to all the men & women who have served, who are currently serving and those who will serve in the future for all you do to keep our country and our streets safe. I don't mean to sound sarcastic when I say to these morons who are so dead-set against firearms, next time you have an emergency at your residence and the intruder had killed your wife / husband and your kids and now has the gun to your head, kindly give the officers an extra 30 minutes or so to stop at their dept. to take off their duty belt and to take their AR-15 patrol rifle & Remington 870out of their vehicles before responding to your residence to answer your call for help.
