Lawmakers Approve Gun Control Measures for SAFE Act

Six years after state lawmakers approved the gun control law known as the SAFE Act, the Democratic-controlled Legislature on Tuesday backed new measures that include barring teachers from having guns on school grounds.

“Today is another step forward,” said Cuomo. “It's not going to be everything, but it's another step forward.”

Lawmakers will approve bills banning the sale and possession of bump stocks, an extension of the waiting period for background checks, block teachers and other school employees from having firearms on school grounds and a “Red Flag” bill barring the possession of a gun for those deemed to be too dangerous.

Banning staff to not have firearms. That will definitely protect our children. But on the flip side in my experience alot of the teachers I have met are pretty wierd and unpredictability stable. It is a super sad day when the people who represent us serve themselves.

Something really needs to change in NY States Government system. It is truly unfair for a couple of cities controlling the entire population of a state. There is no good ending here in NY unless SCOTUS becomes involved, and I just don't see that happening anytime soon. So frustrating to see the American way of life, the Bill of RIGHTS and the Constitution in general being stripped away from law abiding citizens. I feel powerless in this state, even though I vote in every election from City to National I really feel like I just don't matter here. Cuomo is going to disarm all private citizens, or force all right leaning people in the state out. That is the end goal.
