Not sure what the implication here is. I've used Remington CopperSolid in 12 gauge both 2 3/4" and 3" with good results, as well as other brands. But they are expensive, aren't suitable for all shotguns and applications, and damned if I'm going to let the state tell me I can't use lead.
A lot has happened with ammunition if you haven't been paying attention recently. Copper sabots can reach out, expand and knock down deer with nasty wound channels, with excellent retention and no toxic fragments for easy and worry-free processing. There are copper sabots for modern muzzleloaders too. In the shot space there are (EXPENSIVE!!) non-lead alloys that are better and heavier than lead (and much better than steel) for turkey and waterfowl, like the stuff from HEVI-Shot, along with crazy tight turkey chokes that can handle it.
Hopefully it won`t go any further. But, this is NY, so they`ll pass it during the darkness behind closed doors like they always do.
Sure they will. The DEC tends to be active in particular locations. If you don’t see them you don’t see them, otherwise it depends on the officers. Some hunters because of where they go can hunt a lifetime without a stop, others have contact nearly every season.
And more to the point the vast majority of rounds fired are target not hunting. But this is bad enough.
I love it !! I remember when bottle water first became a thing, maybe 1985ish?? I thought it was the dumbest idea ever, who would pay for water if it came out of faucets for next to nothing $$.. I may have been wrong.
