Lead standards bill vetoed

A-5541B/S-8050A, Establishes environmental standards for ambient lead and lead contamination, has been Vetoed by the Governor.

I could see this being used in a way to target shooting ranges.

The fact that it was vetoed sounds like a good thing for shooting. Is this the case? Am I missing something?

California banned all lead bullets...................plenty of reloader bargains were on GB a while back. They had to dispose of them all. I got 400 .243 bullets for $25.00

They now have to use copper macerating expanding, Barnes TSX or Hornady CX type copper bullets.......no more lead on deer or people.

It's good that it was vetoed. As with most bills, it is vague and could be construed to include ranges.

I could also see it going towards the airgun community too. Not good. It doesn't just effect powder burners -- it effects all guns, regardless of propellant.

Thanks for posting and I truly mean that. It’s very hard to keep up with all this shot and it’s very aggravating. Keeping up with all this shit isn’t good for my health or marriage.

It hasn`t happened anywhere else in the country for that matter either. NY isn`t the only place that won`t do a damn thing. People don`t want to do anything because they are to comfortable. Gawd forbid if someone lost their friggin cell phone for 30 seconds though.
