It cuts cost for sure. But isn't aluminum light enough for a pistol frame? Curious to know what other metals are mixed in with the aluminum.

They alloy the aluminum with other metals to get the properties that are desired. Pure aluminum are too soft. Usually copper and magnesium are added. For strength and durability. S&W adds scandium to some of the aluminum alloy guns, but it's very expensive.

I can understand Magnesium, but Copper is pretty malleable isn't it? Or is that purposely to give the metal some flexibility?

When its mixed in, copper adds to the strength and durability.

Interesting.. it's actually lighter than a Shield and holds more rounds.

James liked it, however no night sights and not milled for optic (no rail either). I'm sure an aftermarket option for night sights will be available, but SIG includes them on their 365XL, and prices look to be roughly the same for the two.

He would have preferred the trigger to be a little lighter (just over 5 lbs on his model), but again that's something you can tweak later with springs or something.

Haven’t seen one in the wild yet. Definitely interested in it, however would like night sights and a lighter trigger pull based upon what I’m seeing. Don’t want a rail and don’t want it optics ready.
