This just isn't a topic I know much about. Never really been an AR guy, but I've still got my NYGF lower just sitting around (with some nice parts and trigger and stuff) but no upper for it.
My budget is..well, slim to none, as I'm barely putting food on the table at this point, but I've seen some seriously good deals on Bear Creek Arms complete barreled uppers (in the $200 to $250 range). I can't necessarily afford that right away, but it's at least plausible that I could pull it and finally turn our lower into something.
I've done some research and I find a lot about a .223 wylde barrel being (maybe ?) the best of both worlds in shooting .223 or 5.56 from the same AR. At BCA they're priced pretty much the same. So my first question is :What are the downsides of choosing an upper in .223 wylde ? Are there any ? Please explain.
Second question is about BCA products in general. They're very affordable, but how does this translate to quality ?
