Who wants to chit chat about leathermans?

In the past 10 months, Ive been buying up Leathermans like they have been going out of style. So far I have:

2 Surges (1 BO)
Supertool 300
Sidekick
3 Revs (1 from SS, 2 unopened)
2 PS4 Squirts
1 ES4 Squirt (wire stripping plier head)
Leatherman tool bit set for the Surges
Handful of keychain tools

I still have quite a few in my sights, such as the Micra, possibly Signal.

I've got a few. They are my favorite of the multi tools. I've got the Rev clipped on my pocket almost every day. I keep another in my work car, and one in my shooting bag.

Thats the one I carry the most. Sees so much abuse but has yet to break. Since they were discontinued, I bought 2 extras from Home Depot.

In my current position, Im getting calls to fix any and all machines (except 1) in the entire plant. So I carry them on my belt and my front right pocket. Most Ive carried was 4 but 2 usually does it. And yes, Ive used 2 at once before so Im glad I brought multiples. But thats a specific usage...not normal. Good to have on hand JIC.

I got my original Rev from a member here in SS. Beef jerky was good, in case it was the same person. So I blame that member for my addiction.

I have some model of a Gerber. It was thrown in, brand new, when I purchased my M1A Scout. The good fella overheard a conversation I had when I mentioned to someone that I had been meaning to get a Leatherman type tool. I keep it in my truck and it has gotten me out of a couple of jams, saving me time and money.

I have a gerber don't know the model. Use it alot. Been on my hip for around 20 years , Jesus has it been that long . I like the one hand flick to open the pliers.

I picked up a couple sidekicks a while back when they were on sale at lowes. Got them to replace my almost 20 year old original leatherman PST. I don't use it much, but its handy when you dont have anything else with you.

I don't collect Leatherman's because I keep losing the damn things. I do currently have a Charge TI. I keep it in my seatback organizer but I don't carry it. I'd like to carry it more but Leatherman's sheaths are garbage and wear out way too quickly. I'd get a kydex sheath but I can never find one that will also accommodate the bit cards.

One of those companies that shipped production overseas but kept their prices the same. I have a couple older ones made in Portland but the newer ones are inferior IMO.

I have bought a few over the years thinking I will use them.
I carry them for awhile but put them in a drawer when I realize I never use them.
Ive come to the realization that all I need is my wallet, a knife and a gun.

Well now you guys made me go out and buy a Rebar! Looking at that and the Wave+ couldn't figure out what the extra $30 would get me so went for the Rebar. Like the sheath better also. Think it has most of the tools I'd use this for anyway. Haven't used it yet but will soon lol...

Leatherman Rebar, I like the hardened replaceable wire cutters. Not the heaviest Leatherman either. One at my desk and one in my get home bag. I have an older Juice (mini) model, ultra lite in my fanny pack day hiking gear.

youll love the rebar. I originally wanted a rebar but the supertool 300 is just a bigger version. Surge is just a heavier duty Wave without the mini screwdriver.

I like the charge over the wave and the mini screwdriver is neccessary for me since i wear glasses. The MUT is too heavy for edc, but it stays in my range bag.

I wear glasses as well but I have a SwissChamp (7or 8 layer swiss army knife, forget which).

I wear my Surge on my belt daily and thats at 12oz. I have to keep checking to see if its there most of the time.

I would get a charge but it offers nothing over my currents except better materials. Which for the peice point, not worth it for me. But id be lying if I didnt say I was a bit jealous.

And I bought a Charge too. Definitely would go for the Wave now. Nothing wrong with the Charge, it's just pricey.

I wore a Gerber for many years when I actually worked but since most of my time is now behind a desk I only carry a benchmade mini griptilian and my side arm of choice.

I hear you, and the wave is a great tool but my job bought my Leatherman's for me so I don't have to worry about price.

So used the Rebar today to install light fixture. Used the wire cutters, stripper and crimper. Also used the phillip's head screwdriver. The wire cutters are awesome. Crimper worked well on copper bonding sleeve for grounds. Stripper got the job done but was kinda a PITA especially while working on live wire lol. Phillips head was decent enough but hurt my hands on pretty tight screw. Overall happy with it and can see it being useful for odds and ends type tasks. Dont know why I haven't bought one sooner...

I had the right tools for the job right there with me just wanted to see how it worked. I really liked the wire cutters and crimper worked well dont think I'd ever use the wire strippers again unless I had no other options. It did work though. It's in use as we speak holding something together while glue dries lol...

Hahaha very well then. At least it passed.

Thats why I bought an ES4 Squirt. Different sized wire strippers in plier head. We do a little bit here at work. Worth $35 thus far.
