My grandson is almost 3 y/o. Went shopping for Nerf guns for the holidays. The only reason i didn't get him one was because it would be impossible for a child his age to be able to rack the slide. Otherwise he'd be armed!

I'd recommend the battery operated automatic nerf guns no racking required, if you like to tinker a basic wire upgrade and you can use Lipo batteries ... motor and fly wheel upgrades can gain you 50-70 fps.

If you remove the air restrictions in the spring fire models adds a nice little POP!
