If that is your style a red dot I think will make you faster and more efficient. That's a novices opinion though. If I do like it I plan on putting one on my carry gun.

I thought about it but don't want the bulk on a small gun like a 26.

Research the shield rms. Built in England. It's small always on and can cowitness with standard height sights for backup. If I like this I will be using one on my G43, time will tell.

That's the beauty of red dot sights on a pistol. you focus on the target instead of the the sights. When I shoot bullseye pistol w/red dot I use a blinder on non dominant eye. Shooting with the blinder allows both eyes open without the muscle tension of closing the non dominant eye. The dot not being perfectly round is not a defect of the the optic but of the lens in your eye (astigmatism).

I think that videos trainee captures my first impression with a red dot. I like the way the instructor used muscle memory to transition to using the red dot. I will be trying this this weekend when I shoot. Thank for the informative video.

Ultradot finally installed....sort of. Hardware issues with the rings is keeping me from sighting it in. Once that's cleared up, should be ready for deer season. If it's brown, it's goin down.
