One of the most common excuses I hear is, so what if my phone tracks and listens to me, I don't do anything wrong.
I just drove to St Louis and back using WAZE. We averaged about 81 MPH. Made real good time. Most of the Speed limit was 70.
I got to thinking.
So what if Google sent my data to the PD and I just get tickets in the mail like they do with tolls. HMMMMM?
Then I see this:

Get an unlocked phone not from a carrier but that will work on the carriers system of choice. It removes all bloatware!

Run a VPN!

Keep an extra EZPASS bag around... Lol

And yeah, when traveling last year and recently, via car and entering other states, Google would pop up asking if I wanted Covid tracking... Fuck that, fuck them! NO always!

That's coming, no doubt about it. It's only a matter of time till either your vehicle or your phone data is shared with the government to the point where they will issue you fines for being over the speed limit.

Assume if you have a phone you are being tracked and monitored. Don;t like it? Don't have a phone.

There are phones out there to mitigate tracking. Degoogle at a minimum but also check out pine phone, but know if you dont switch off antennas you are not achieving anything.

The government has the best of both worlds. Private 3rd party companies track phones and the government gets access to this data whenever they want (with or without a warrant). So technically the government isn't tracking you ;-)

The only way around this is to not use cell phones. But we as a society have become so hooked on them that will never happen.

When I'm finished with job here in a few years, I'm not having a cell phone. Landline and that's it. Leave a message after the tone.

You can always run your own PBX, extend a trunk, and setup a SIP on your PBX. Only use public wifi to access your sip server with the cellular connection completely disabled (ie. Airplane mode with wifi enabled).

You get a mobile phone. A bill of about $6. And no tracking. Just saying.

If I need a phone, I'll get a disposable cell phone that only has voice and texting, modify it so when I am not using it the battery is disconnected. Even if I have to physically hack up the phone...

It will also stay in my barn or something. Not in my house in case there is still something tracking or listening even with the battery disconnected.

In the UK they already use “average speed enforcement“ cameras

They clock you as you enter the highway and again when you exit

From that they calculate your average speed and do actually issue tickets in the Mail if you are over the limit

So they don’t even need you cellphone data

Italy as well. Last time I was there I borrowed a car not knowing this. I told the owner he was at fault for giving me a 7 series and no warnings. No clue what the fine was, he took care of it.
