Lets talk Red Dots on handguns

While I prefer iron sights, my eyes aren't getting any better, so I purchased this slide/red dot combo for my CPX2 as a cheap way to compare them.

It has a 3.5 moa dot and others have recommended that I might like a 6 moa dot better, so I'll see how it looks and go from there.

Those are around everywhere. Wonder WTF is Aimpoint's problem with manufacturing. They are not new to the game.
No clue, because I can get their new "duty" (aka budget T2) all and that was only announced a few weeks/months ago
There are many more primary carbine optics out there to go with than there are pistol optics. Since the market has so many options for carbine optics, the demand on the RDS has not been as prevalent. As for pistol optics, sure there are plenty out there but not as many that would be considered duty quality. As for Aimpoint itself, they only have one other pistol optic and that’s the outdated P-1 Acro now, which just increases demand on the P-2 (not counting the H1, H2, T1, T2…since most people are mounting them on pistols anymore really). Especially with the P-2 being the new hot optic to get, it’ll sell out quickly for a while. But eventually they’ll catch up.
I still can't believe it was released a year ago and it's still selling out drops in under 60 seconds

I’m pretty sure I’ll be going either T-2 or CompM5 on top of a Unity Micro Mount for my 11.5”. Unless I decide to switch and run the same style setup as my 9” .300blk which is running the Eotech EXPS 3-0 on a Unity Riser.
Yeah my next big optic purchase is either going to be a 1-6x or a T2 (followed by whatever I didn't get next)
Side note.. holosun is going to be releasing 2 new enclosed emitter handgun dots.

Got my CPX2 slide with CT 5Moa dot last week and finally got the time to get into it last night.
Right off the bat it's not a drop in slide, as after I swapped the barrel and recoil spring, I had issues with the new slide binding before going into battery.
With a little tap it did go into battery.
I looked further into the accessories bag and found a new hammer/spring assy in there.
Removed the factory hammer assy and compared them and the hammer on the new assy is about 1/8" shorter than the factory assy.
Reassembled and it's good to go.
I have an older model CPX2, so I don't know if newer production models have the newer style hammers in them.
If so, then it would be considered a drop in slide.
The original slide has no issues with the newer hammer assy installed, but I haven't tested either for function, other than manipulating both slides and chambering dummy rounds.
I was concerned that I would need to get new holsters to fit the red dot, but the TC dot is very small and it fits into my DeSantis and Remora holsters with just a little bit of resistance.
