Long before COVID I remember standing at the counter of one of the Gander Mountains near me (now we have none but that's a different story) and a guy who wanted to buy his first handgun was very indignant that he couldn't take one home that day. Clerk explained he needed a permit. Guy asks how long it takes to get a permit. Clerk says it depends but in this county it could take anywhere from 6-8 months if not longer. Guy screams he needs it now! Clerk says sorry, nothing he can do.

Sorry buddy. Maybe think about voting next time.

I dislike how the article infers that these wannabe gun owners are all of a sudden Pro 2A .

I don't believe for a second that they know about or care about the 2A .
In my opinion they suddenly feel threatened and automatically think I'll get a gun.
When this blows over, they'll not think twice about it until the next crisis and perhaps , if they still own it or know where it is located , will dust it off and feel comfortable again.
I highly doubt that many will take any training classes other than the required intro class for pistol permits. Hell , most of the guys here bitch about it when mandatory safety classes are mentioned. The NRA pistol class is pretty much a joke.
Then you tell them they need to get proper storage for their new purchases on top of all the other bull shit that is involved with the ownership and transportation of said firearm, I anticipate few will heed the guidelines.

I am generally cynical of most people , more so of Libs. I hope that I am wrong but generally every other thing that they do, think or say tells me otherwise.

Chances are, once this thing blows over, these people will try to sell their recently acquired guns in any illegal method they can. Simply because they don't know or respect the hurdles they've caused to be created.
And, personally, I hope each and every one of them get railed HARD by Johnny Law for it.
