While some still try to sell gun control after nationwide rioting, looting and a few high-profile police misconduct cases, Americans aren’t buying it. Instead, they’re buying guns and ammo at a record pace. In fact, they are buying so much that gun shops simply can’t keep product on the shelves.

In the Chicagoland suburbs, one big gun shop sold out of two pallets of 9mm ball ammo in three days after the rioting started, 128,000 rounds. While full metal jacket ammo makes for good practice ammo, in a pinch it surely beats nothing for those without defensive ammunition.
Meanwhile, in the middle of flyover country, stores like the Stock and Field farm store photographed above from Pontiac, Illinois tell the tale. While they have a few boxes of .40 S&W remaining, their stock of common self-defense handgun calibers remains nil.

Yet we keep hearing how it’s only a few select white people whom are buying all those said guns and ammo. We also hear how the percentage of gun owning houses is declining.

I made a delivery in Melrose Park IL last week. When i was leaving i passed a gun shop. The line went out the door and across the parking lot. It made me a little happy i live in a small relatively quiet town.

I made a great purchase. 820 rounds of 5.56, and 450 rounds of 9mm for $0.00. I had $500 cash in hand but I’m redoing this women’s yard for free so this was my payment. Sounds like she’s planning to deal more. They have a few guns I’d be happy to trade for. It’s more than fair for them and me.
I’m moving 10 yards of dirt, 3 yards of crushed stone for an 11x18 patio, doing the patio, and a few other odds and ends. Also rerouting the sum pump so a guy can do drain tile and plumb the downspouts and discharge into the storm sewer.

I need 10 yards of dirt and planned to rent a bobcat but I’m using theirs. Bonus and got the ammo. I’m thinking they will toss in the colt mark v .380 mustang for me too. I’d be plenty happy. I planned on not really getting anything and just doing it for karma. She’s like 90 and a good friends mom. Her husband passed away and never let her do what she wanted.

I LOVE barter! Done it many many times and have always come out happy! I've bartered about $5500 worth of dental work in the last couple years.

Prepared for a long road without ammo or limited ammo worse than the Sandy Hook shooting. Remember many places in the nation are still closed or they are at a limited capacity this time. When the Sandy Hook shooting happened, the country was up and running and we all know how hard it was getting ammo back when that happened. So my opinion would be to ration your ammo or try not to shoot much this year. It is already happening right now and with the COVID 19 spikes happening again, you may see another shutdown in some places.
