Living in a RV, and firearms......

So many of you know, when I left New Yorkistan, we moved into a RV. Now im contemplating selling a couple of my rifles and getting just one.

My 30-30 is a JM stamped, its killed a few deer and has about 300 rounds through it. I figure I could get about $800 for it.

the 45-70 is a Remlin ( Remington/Marlin )with a flyweight gate, large lever and Alaskan peep sites. I figure I could get about $1000 for it?

I'd like to get a Henry 30-30 ALL WEATHER lever action. I know they're a little pricey, but they are AMERICAN made and they have a lifetime warranty. the basic thing here is a want an all weather rifle.

If you know of any better options or have ant suggestions, go ahead and post them, thanx

I think any new lever gun would be at best a sideways purchase to a nice JM stamped Marlin. They were fine, reliable and sturdy guns. I'd stick with it. Of course, that's just my opinion.

I don't even think a Henry will be as nicely made as a JM.

The remlin though, you can let that go and get a Henry.

Do you have to maintain state compliance?

After further thought this idea is ridiculous. Your camper has no lack of room for another gun or dozen.

Don’t be so cheap. Those are really nice looking guns. Think of all the money you’re saving not paying property taxes. Honestly I’d be like you and have a hard time coughing up $1,500 for a rifle. I’m cheap.

They aren't any less expensive.

I'm obviously not in the manufacturing business (or any other) but I find it interesting and difficult to fathom that a relatively simplistic design that's been in constant production for some 130 years, one that's traditionally been an economic one for "the working man" has eclipsed a thousand dollars, and every time there's an pseudo-shortage of Ammunition becomes impossible to find ammunition for (still can't hardly find .35 Rem) and not too far back 30-30 was only a box or two once a week on the walmart truck.
