Local Ammo Store Recommendation

I am a first-time ammo buyer and in fact a new gun owner. I just tried to buy ammo online. It is really an ignoring process. One seller asked not only my FFL license but also my conversation with the FFL about the transfer fee. After going through all the steps, she told me that their warehouse made mistake and they didn't have the ammo in stock now.

I gave up online buying now and am trying to find a local store to buy ammo. If you have any recommendations, please let me know. I understand the situation now. Most of the stores probably don't have in stock now. But once the craziness passes, I will buy in those local stores. I am in northern Westchester.

Check Rescue Stuff in Peekskill, I am not sure how much ammo they have and I think they are by appointment only at the moment. Probably closer to you (I am a big fan of Collectors, linked above, fwiw).

+1 on Civil Armory. Awesome guys to deal with. His ammo prices were fair when compared to other retailers. Not spectacular but fair. Other end of town is Quattro's.

You're likely to find what you need at Collector but I can't say if you'll be happy with price in today's market. I try to avoid buying when prices this high.

Mentioned Precision based on a friends recommendation, heard they had some ammo and stock awhile ago, and because it was on the way back. I almost mentioned a swing down Rt 84 to the TargetSportsUSA brick and mortar LEO supply affiliate but you would need a CT card for FTF ammo purchases (always seems to have some knives, tactical lights, and tactical gear on sale).

Never crazy about Collectors prices or counterside manner.

Full throated recommendation for Civil. They don't get too greedy, spend time with customers, often throws in freebies on firearm sales, is fair for ffl service on online purchases, his gunsmith does good work, he has ordered stuff for us he normally did not carry, product service is good, and if your timing is right bargains are there if Derek wants to move some inventory or if he gets a good deal he passes it on. (I still kick myself for passing on a deal he had on a Sig 1911 Nightmare, and a small Kahr.)
