I heard two LEO talking about this at the gym, why they retired because in the aftermath of the Floyd stuff it became too hard. I'm not saying it was justified how that all shook out, but the job demands you make tough choices for which you could be liable. That's life, just like us "civilians."

For them, it's policy over the Constitution, because their paycheck is more important than anything in the Constitution.

If the state legislature passed a law to outlaw free speech against political representatives in this state, do you know what the police would do? They would enforce it with no questions asked. Restrictions on religion? The same. Fee for enjoying both? The same.

That's the most alarming thing that the left doesn't get. Today, it's the 2nd amendment under attack with restrictions, getting permission and paying for a carry permit etc. Tomorrow, it may be you need permission to say something against your senator, state rep, president etc. And you know what can be used to establish precedent? That's right, the restrictions on the 2nd amendment.

If you can allow a $600 /year permit fee for NYC residents to have a carry license, even though the constitution states "shall not be infringed" in black and white, then how much easier will it be to set a permit fee for every right in the Constitution? None of the other amendments state "shall not be infringed" so, what's to stop them from making a permit fee of $600 for each right you want to enjoy?

What law enforcement and the military should be doing is enforcing the Constitution not picking and choosing when they will at their discretion. Frankly, the Supreme Court should be able to issue bench warrants to have the people's representatives arrested when they violate our rights. What good is a right, if when you use it, you're arrested for it? What did our governor and legislature do after the Supreme Court ruled against them when it came to carry permits for citizens? They then created restricted places ensuring you can't carry in NYC. So, what good is the Supreme Court Ruling if police don't enforce the rulings and just go along with the governor? And I'm suppose to support the police that do this? Sorry, no.

Any citizen that has a court ruling against them can't just ignore it, there are consequences such as fines, jail, or both. But a politician can continue to break the law of the land, have a ruling against them, and instead of punishment, or warning, they just go home and create more laws that take away rights. They just broke a law, where are the police to arrest them? It's an absurd system. And yes, there are devils in the details when considering arresting political representatives. But the alternative of just not voting them back into office as a solution, is as we know, not a solution. Direct swift and real consequences are the only way to stop attacks on any rights we have as Americans. In fact, at this point do we call them rights anymore? Or are they now redefined as privileges?
