thinking of a new medium priced scope for my Remington vtr in 308 moving the leupold from it to my 1963 700 bdl 06 it has an old 1X4 weaver. kinda like either the Vortex Viper or the Bushnell thoughts?

I had been getting the Diamondback HPs until they discontinued them. Then I stepped up to the Viper HS.
I have 3 Strike Eagle 1-6, 3 Diamondback HP, 2 Viper HS, a Crossfire Scout, a 1500 rangefinder and 10x42 binos.

After doing some research and reading real world reviews I went with Vortex glass and I couldn’t be happier. I recently put the Crossfire II on my new CZ 527 and the clarity is amazing!

EXCELLENT glass and many of their scopes come in both MOA and MilDot. Prices range from $275-$450 and you get a lot for your money including rings, installation tool, and bubble levels for mounting. I will NEVER buy another brand of scope... I have their 6x24x50 for $399, 2- 4x14x44 for $299 and the 1x8x28 for $450... Absolutely some of the toughest and best tracking scopes I have ever owned...

I liked the Japanese Bushnell and Weaver scopes. Sadly long gone.
Burris isn't bad.
Out of the current crop I still would buy leupold or Bushnell unless I was looking at long range. Then I like the swfa stuff.
I personally do not like vortex scopes.
