Looking for a place to shoot in Syracuse area

Hey guys, I'm pretty new to the whole gun ownership thing, and I don't have enough land to shoot (legally). Any tips on good places to shoot in the Syracuse area? I have my eye on the Pompey Rod and Gun and the Baldwinsville Rod and Gun, but if there's a place I can go for free, that's even better.

I'd be shooting rifle mostly, so preferably somewhere with at least 100 yards. And if there are better/ cheaper/ better gun clubs then I'd be happy to hear about them.

Oh and if there are any places in the Northcountry that are free (not clubs, since I don't live up there for enough of the year) that'd be cool too. I'm up in the Morristown/ Black Lake/ Ogdensburg area when I'm there.

New Bremen Fish and Game Club is about an hour away from you and is 30 bucks for a 2017 membership.

They look pretty good, but no matter where I drive from it'll be over and hour and a half, that's just a little too much to do, unless I get desperate. Thanks for the tip though

We have a 400 yard rifle range as well as a pistol and shotgun range.

Might as well post in here instead of making a new thread. I'm also looking for a range/club to shoot at with my roommate, we live over in baldwinsville. Ideally a place that doesn't mind a couple guests per member.

I think you have to pay for non members at pathfinder. I am a member of the leatherstocking club of cny and I think they charge $5 for a nonmember. You are only allowed to bring 1 non member with you.

from there see no target shooting not allowed .. just clean up you mess .. no glass .. paper , cans .. pick them up .. no shooting trees ..
give them a call to make sure .. go on a hike and look for a nice dirt backstop .. ..

I am not a member there but I have shot there before. It was like most shooting ranges. Idk what their membership fees are but if you become a member you still have to pay to shoot on the range. It is weird, I think you have to option of paying per use or yearly on the rifle range.

I would say downtown, they won't even notice!
