Looking for thoughts on SIG P320 series

I'm becoming more interested in the p320 series.
I was initially very suspect of them and admittedly their trigger 'upgrade" issues freaked me out. But it seems to be resolved I haven't heard of any crazy incidents of drop firing or similar.

I like that sig keeps innovating and staying at the front. This platform seems to keep getting a larger % of market share and more people keep converting. So that leads me to think it's pretty well received by it's owners.

What do you guys like or dislike about them? Would you do it over again or go another route? Any regrets? Any thoughts to share?

I have more than a few 320s most of them Legions, but I have a couple normal ones and their military version ( M17 and M18). They are fairly nice pistols. Easy to customize, easy to shoot. They prefer 124 grain bullets.

Since you seem to have a large collection of them you have more than a "sample of 1". How has their reliability and durability been in your experience?

Have not had a malfunction with any of them. I had both 40S&W and 9mm builds. I mainly shoot reloads through everything. I really like the heavy tungsten infused frames and have them on a majority of my 320s. The extra weight really tames the recoil polymer pistols can exhibit.

Full disclosure I built most of them from parts. Back when sig was refurbishing the 320s I picked up stripped FCUs for 10 bucks each. I only have a few full factory build 320s.

These were stripped. The parts kit for them was anywhere from180 to 250 depending on what trigger you wanted. The flat ones and the ones used on the legions cost more.

I love my full size 320. It is my favorite large frame semi auto for sure. Put hundreds of rounds of 9mm through it and never had an issue. I did send it in for the free recall fix they had. Surprisingly they had it back in about a month.

My gun budget always goes toward higher priority things, but I do want to send my 320 to Wilson Combat for some loving. Their WCP320 takes the stock Sig to a whole new level. Tad pricey, but worth it.

Love mine, Great shooter and yes they like 124 grain as mentioned. Get an X-Carry. X-carry has a much better grip module and seems to give a much better/higher grip on the gun. Oh, and look at some Gucci while you are at it!

How big of a size difference is the compact to full size? M18 to m17

Can you still carry the full size or is that not ideal. Is the compact roughly equivalent to g19 size?

I’m no expert but there are mounting plates to adapt to other footprints. My understanding is that this adds some space under the pistol sight and raises it up. This may cause your back up sights if any to not be aligned properly.

The only P320 that directly mounts a RMR or Delta point pro is the P320 Spectre. All other P320's directly mount a Sig Romeo red dot. You can use plates for other red dots as far as I know. The X5 may be different being a competition gun.

I purchased a p320 compact in 45 auto a few years back. Still has the original trigger that caused all that fuss but not to concerned about it either. The best thing about it is that it’s not a picky eater. I can feed it anything at all from hollow points to 260 gr Keith swc’s and it begs for more. The gun even chambers empty cases from the magazine!
On the down side it’s kind of bulky, the slide is a bit on the wide side so summertime carry a little more difficult to hide than my 1911’s .
I’ve owned a couple of G 30’s and both would choke on my all time favorite target and plinking Bullet, the 200gr swc , no problem with the Sig and the grip angle makes it point much more to my liking.

A 320 is on my Wish List eventually - but I'd probably splurge and go Legion or AXG route or something. Looking to get a Beretta 1301 first. I'm so invested in M&Ps (holsters, mags, etc) that I'm taking my time before I get another pistol.

I do love my 365XL though - great little pistol. Winter carry is usually M&P 2.0 Compact, but recently installed a 509t on it so not sure how concealable that'll be, even with winter jacket.
