We are headed to Constitutional Carry here in Kentucky. I'm very happy to see that it was a very bipartisan vote so far. I'd be very surprised if this doesn't go through, our Governor has said that when it hits his desk he will be signing it. I love the analogy that was floated out there by some of our elected officials, who pointed out that someone who can legally carry should not become a criminal just because they put a jacket on!!

I have my CCDW, and continue to keep it as it is required for reciprocity with other states we travel through. BUT, I'm glad Kentucky is moving in the right direction.

Like the Kentucky state flag states: "United we stand, Divided we fall!

i'll have to look into KY's non res permit or is that going to change too soon from this ?? another item for the bucket list ..

KY doesn't issue a non-resident CCDW. Kentucky does recognize all other state's permits, including non-resident permits.
One of the benefits of keeping my CCDW down here is that it skips the NICS check. All I do is fill out the 4473, they put my CCDW number on it, and I take my gun home. Simple as that.
