m3000 not striking

I have a Stoeger m3000 (m3k varient) that has probably 500 rounds through it. Randomly when shooting the gun I will fire one round, the gun will cycle but when I got to fire the next round I get a click and then no bang. When I eject the round their are 0 signs of any impact on the primer.

At first I thought maybe the target loads I was running were simply not fully cycling the action but then recently it did it with buckshot too. This seems to happen once every 40 rounds I would say. Any ideas on what might cause this?

Have you disassembled the weapon?

In my worthless opinion double check the firing pin spring.

Maybe the bolt is not fully closing?

Have you cleaned and lubed the SG well?

Try just pushing the bolt forward after the first shot to see if that does it.

Interesting. I have an M3k with about 600 rounds thru it. So far it has been good. How is the spring in the bolt? I have heard that they can crack. Maybe it is starting and somehow blocking the firing pin.

Typical problem with the firing groups on the stoeger shotguns.
The rest is fine but the triggers fall apart. Have the firing ping, disconnector or whatever else repleaced by
a proper one, if possible better than the original. Either heat treating goes south or something else but
they eventually fail. Once you take care of that they chug along very well.
I would not even bother with the warranty if you have one.
Replace the parts with better ones and a good gun smith might recondition / heat threat existing ones.
