Landstad 1900 Automatic Revolver

The Norwegian Landstad 1900 was an automatic revolver using both a cylinder and box magazine. Only one prototype was made, which did poorly in military trials.

I think it’s pretty cool. I think someone should design one that is magazine fed where the mag inserts in the grip and the cylinder is over that area so it’s no declared an assault rifle in NYS and the likes. That was a joke because it’s not semi auto but I wonder how practical that would be.

I think this monstrosity *was* semi-auto.

It's like the inventor put all the actions in a blender and out came this monstrosity.

When you fire it, there is a slide that reciprocates and ejects the fired case.

The magazine loads a fresh round in the bottom of the cylinder, then a long heavy DA trigger pull rotates the cylinder into firing position again.

It's like someone said "can we take all the downsides from all the actions and combine them in one pistol, but with no advantages.
