Absolutely. This would work great for both jobs. Not to mention it's one of the sexier 870's I've ever seen.

It's at a great price too. I'm surprised it's lasted this long.

It leans more towards home defense and fun with an 18" barrel but you could get started with clays. The issue is most clay shooters use longer barrels because they swing and point easier. There really isn't one gun that does both but you could buy a $150 26" 870 aftermarket barrel for clays.
