Make Your 50 Rounds Count

I just figured I would pass this along to everyone here. Now that the wife and I are looking for a house and planning on starting a family money is going to be tight. To get the most out of a 50 round training session on the range, one thing you can do is find a 50 round police qualification course of fire. Instead of using a full size human silhouette target or IDPA/ USPSA target you can use the NRA B8 target and a 3x5 index card. Use the B8 for the body shots and use the index card for headshots and keep the same par times listed on the qualification.

I typically use these myself.


For what its worth, i have an Ar airsoft rifle, and glock 19 airsoft pistol. The pistol has a function slide so it has some recoil, and you can do mag changes. The rifles has all the same controls as a real one so they are both good for muscle memory. I mostly practice taking the rifle from low ready/safe to shots on target, then transition to the pistol with mag changes for both.

I use the dividers between rows of 30 rack. Almost the same size as a human torso. I also like the 50 round builder Julie Golib (spelling?) put out a while ago.
