BRADFORD, N.Y. (WENY) – The Schuyler County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man for disorderly conduct after an explosion was heard around the county Thursday night.
On Thursday night around 8:00 p.m., the Schuyler County Sheriff’s Office received several calls reporting a loud explosion heard as far as Cross Road in the Town of Reading.
After investigating, officers say they learned 29-year-old Matthew Alexandrovich shot a bag of Tannerite at property on Huggins Road in the Town of Orange, which is roughly 10 miles away from Cross Road in the Town of Reading.
He was charged with disorderly conduct under 240.20 Sub 2 of the NY State Penal Law and issued an appearance ticket; according to that law, a person is charged with disorderly conduct when they cause "public inconvenience, annoyance, or alarm".
The Schuyler County Sheriff’s Office says if you did not call the Sheriff’s Office but would like to complete a statement about hearing the explosion, contact their office at 607-535-8222.
