I think the man is a power-hungry, greedy monster who cares nothing for the Ukranian people.
As an example, let me retreat to WWII.
Many people dismiss the French as craven cowards who surrendered to the Nazi without a fight. But think of this.... Perhaps they decided that having the enemy carpet-bomb Paris and other masterpieces of their history was just not worth it.
Yes, Jews and others were sacrificed. But perhaps the French did not care much for Jews anyways. And this gamble paid off. Paris, Versailles, and most of France survived unscathed.
Fast Forward to the Ukraine. Can anyone tell me how, exactly, the average Ukrainian Citizen lives a life superior to the average Russian ? By all accounts, Ukraine is and was the most corrupt nation in Europe.
As this war progresses, Zelinsky buys homes across the globe, and fattens his portfolio. Not once has he sought peace with Putin.
On the contrary, he demands more and more money - which disappears.
And the Ukranians suffer and die, with the Winter approaching.
Zelensky is a wretch who cares for no one but himself.
